I've never skied before, neither Alpine nor Nordic, so can I start with cross-country?
Yes, of course, they are two different disciplines.
What's the difference between the Classic technique and skating?
  • Classic cross-country skiing: ideal for beginners, parallel skis with flakes to grip the snow in tracks.
  • Skating cross-country skiing: no skating with divergent, smooth skis, offering more glide and thrills.
Should I bring my own equipment?
Yes, you need to bring the right equipment (cross-country skis, poles, boots) for the job (classic skis with flakes or skate skis for skating).
Where can I hire my equipment?
Most of the sports shops in the village have them for hire (NB: that there is no hire at La Livraz).
How should I dress?
- Technical sportswear is ideal. In all cases, choose breathable clothing and not too many layers.
- For children, alpine ski clothing is ideal.
-Don't forget your sun protection and take plenty of water.
Do I need a ski pass?
Yes, a ski pass is compulsory.

The ski pass for access to the La Livraz Nordic area is not included in the prices (Adults: €9 / Children: €6 per day, excluding insurance).
Is it possible to walk to the cross-country runs?
No, this is totally forbidden, as the pistes (cross-country and alpine) are reserved for skiers only.
On foot, use the marked footpaths.
